Your Union’s Women’s Group is a vibrant, discussion, campaign and action forum for women students at Heriot Watt University. We meet regularly in a relaxed and informal manor to share our experiences and discuss and debate how the lives of our women students can be improved, both on and off campus. Our focus this year is on Zero Tolerance to sexual harassment and equality and discrimination. We have passed a Zero Tolerance to harassment policy which ensures that any night out in your Union you should be able to enjoy your night out without sexual harassment or assault. We are the first Union in Edinburgh and the third in Scotland to be awarded the prestigious Zero Tolerance Accreditation from NUS. Find out more here...

Zero Tolerance

We also run university wide and national campaigns, host debates and hold social events. The Woman’s group is a great place to make new friends and meet people from throughout the university. Everyone is welcome to join the woman’s group, regardless of age, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation and even gender. Men are welcome to join the group although will not be able to have a vote in decision makings.

All women and men are welcome to come along to the meetings, regardless of social background, political stance or how much experience you’ve had celebrating and campaigning for women’s rights. If you wish to join the woman’s group please get in touch. You can get involved at any time throughout the year. The agenda is set by you for you so come along and get involved.
