International Students🌏

Moving to a new country to study is a daunting experience! Don't worry, we're here to help you settle in.

We are able to provide advice on a number of issues affecting international students, from social activities in Edinburgh to academic procedures.  We also organise events which enable international students to make the most out of their experience abroad.

If you're an international student please pop in to the Advice Hub for a chat. You may have lots of questions about life in Scotland and university procedures and we'll be happy to help.

The International Office 🌏

The International Office is based in the Hugh Nesbit building within Student Support and Accommodation. There are two international Advisors, Peter and Louise, and they are there to help students with their immigration queries (visa extensions, dependants, batch scheme, etc) and can also help them with welfare issues such as council tax and bank accounts. Students can book one-to-one appointments with Peter and Louise and get personalised advice.   There is lots of really useful information on their website including a pre-arrival information booklet which is updated each year.
